Where we meetThe essentials of meeting are confidentiality, privacy and arranging a suitable time to focus on the matters in hand. I am happy to meet with you: face to face by telephone e-mail consultation
I am prepared to meet with you at any place you would prefer, but most clients come to my home and feel really comfortable there.
I believe that confidentiality and security in our communication is central and this is supported by the ethical requirements of the BACP Code of Ethics, my supervision and my concern to put your welfare first. My work on the internet is passworded and my computer is secured.
The only caveat that I allow is in circumstances where you may be actively suicidal, or at risk of seriously harming another person. Should these circumstances arise, I would very much hope to have the opportunity of discussing the situation with you before taking any action to protect you. Like others I am required to act if children are known to be at risk.
If you wish me to advocate for you, then this would be possible if you gave me a written request allowing me to break confidentiality in this regard.
I will make sure I am available for you at the time we arrange, so I would expect that unless you give me 2 days notice, you would be due to pay for the session. I would expect to give you good notice if I am unable to make our meeting. Regular attendance is important to progress the work we do. The normal charge is £35 per session. I will discuss concessionary fees in some circumstances. If you would like to book 6 sessions I can offer a reduction to £200.
